CARUSO MARINE SERVICES

CMS was founded in Germany in June 2019, by British Master Mariner Darren Carus, former Master, Barge Master, and Fleet operations superintendent with Swire Pacific Offshore, Singapore.
The purpose of Caruso Marine Services (CMS) is to support the client through specialist knowledge and experience. The ultimate goal is to satisfy our customers by offering broad services with a professional approach.
Maritime regulations are changing rapidly, especially the international regulations are frequently being renewed and increased by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). Further, it is noticed that the knowledge and experience in the shipping industry are rapidly decreasing. It can be seen over the complete sector, on board ships, but also within shipping companies and shipyards.
CMS can support the client by using specialists’ knowledge and experience in the field of maritime regulations. For example, by inventorying regulations, checking drawings with our in-house naval architect, inspecting or surveying ships, ISM & ISPS internal audits, DP audits, newbuilding supervision, training of crew, superintendent service and contact with Classification societies, Flag states and PSC or a combination of services. Furthermore, CMS delivers service as captain on board offshore anchor handling tugs. This could be as master, extra master or as captain advisor where handover of knowledge is the main purpose.
CMS liaised with various reliable contractors with specific knowledge and experience for support. Those contacts could further be used if CMS has nobody available.
The company completed its first inspection, an IMCA eCMID inspection of the DP2 vessel, Horizon Geobay at Chaguaramas, Trinidad on 15th February 2020.
We have carried out services for several clients, these have been P&I Clubs, Shipowners, Ship managers, and Marine Survey Companies contracting our expertise locally.
We have carried out Condition Surveys, Pre-purchase/Sales Surveys, eCMID Inspections, ISM/ISO, ISPS, and MLC Audits, On and Off hire Surveys, Incident Investigations, and Other Marine Surveys, Inspections, and Services.
We are keeping up with rules and regulations and developing new services as a part of that we follow the CPD programs of IMCA and IIMS and we do training and courses accordingly.
For a vessel transiting the Panama Canal, it is an opportunity to conduct a required inspection or audit without interfering with the vessels schedule, and we can assist with such tasks in Panama; Balboa Anchorage, Cristobal and Colon Inner and outer Anchorage (WP), Puerto Armuelles, Chiriqui Grande, & Almirante.
